Nothing to fear

We tighten in order to become strong.
We close up out of fear of being vulnerable.
We distance ourselves thinking we are protecting our hearts.
All this out if fear to be hurt.
All this out of fear that others will penetrate the armor we have built.

But this fear is the ultimate pain.
The pain we cause ourselves.
Artificially edging in a sledge hammer between us and the "other".
Creating an illusion of separation.
Limiting, tightening, distancing... Until we can't breathe.
Then, only then we are,may be, willing to ask for help. And still fearfully. Still keeping the distance as we frightfully reach out a hand.

The only thing we are avoiding is the tremendous feeling of bliss. The comforting feeling of remembering who we are. The extraordinary peace of finally finding home.
The joy of being one.

We all carry that inside.
Sometimes we simply need another to guide us, to shine a light on what we have never seen.
