The fear of the Fall

It is the fear of the fall. The fear of the pain that keeps us from walking. Most of us don't even think of running because of the fear of crashing into the wall.

How can we live without falling?

Falling from bed, falling from grace, falling on the street falling in love, falling from the tree, falling on your knees. All our lives we are falling. Yet we are so afraid of it we close ourselves in little rooms, closets afraid to go outside ,to do anything afraid that we may fall.

How empty is our life.
How empty the words
How vain the actions. Even though they were thought to be made with the noblest of intention.
It is funny.
How pointless it all is.

Because when you fall and there is no one around to feel sorry for you you just get up, dust off your pants and keep going.
Even if there is a pain in your back  and a bruise on your hip. There is no one around to complain to, to demand attention. So we cannot be dramatic because there is no one to care.
So the fall is not so scary after all. But the idea of it is very frightening.
